Nurturing Well-Being Through Circular Breathwork

In this space, I facilitate a mindful breathing practice within a non-judgemental, supportive environment- allowing you to safely process and release whatever no longer serves your highest good.

Breathwork dates as far back as 2700 B.C.E. in China and 3000 B.C.E. in India. It's also been used in Japan and Tibet for centuries. These practices have since been refined and modernized to fit into today's society. "Breathwork" is an umbrella term for dozens of types of breathwork techniques, and within these different types of techniques there are people creating brand names based on specific techniques- which can make it even more confusing.

Circular Breathwork, also known as Conscious Connected Breathing, has physical, emotional, psychological, and even spiritual benefits that have been well established and studied, and continue to be studied in today's modern world. This is the technique that I focus on in my classes the majority of the time. I am absolutely impressed by the results it yields in a very short amount of time. From the first time I experienced this technique, I was blown away by the immediate results for myself. By the third session, it was undeniable that experiences could be varied and powerful. Every session has shown me that what I expect to happen probably won't...which makes describing what this self-care is really difficult. The most common reaction from students is, "Wow, I had no idea I needed this", and "I feel so centered and peaceful".

I've observed thousands of people- from my emergency room employment days, until now in my massage therapy role- just going through life breathing on autopilot. Teaching people how to breathe with intention and mindfulness to release tension, stress, boost energy, and deeply connect with themselves is my goal. It's your opportunity to learn a whole new level of awareness and healing.

The technique is very simple, yet so powerful. You breathe continuously without pausing between breaths. This allows energy to flow freely though your entire body. The rhythmic flow bypasses your thinking brain and accesses your body's emotional circuitry directly. This helps release stored emotions, stress, or trauma.

You will be laying down while practicing this technique, in a safe and supported space. I use music, intention setting, body awareness, and coaching to help you stay connected to the process. There are physical sensations that occur during the session, and emotional releases during sessions are common. You are in charge of your session, you control how deep you want to go. Breathwork doesn't 'plant' anything for you to find, rather it allows the peeling back of layers of protection that we all have as we go through our lives. So if emotions come up for you, it means that you needed to process that emotion. You're not talking about it, you're breathing about it!

I want you to know that you don't need to love breathwork. Breathwork doesn't have to be your thing. But if you're willing to keep an open mind, and try something new, you might just have a transformational experience. And also, breathwork comes with some contra-indications, and some people might not be appropriate for this technique. Please feel free to contact me with questions. I'll leave you with this: there are ZERO incidents of anything bad happening during this breathwork!

My Journey Begins

My personal journey with my own breath began over 26 years ago when I was working in a demanding emergency room environment day in, day out. I realized I could shift my own emotional state just by changing my breathing. I was able to stay calm and present, even in the most chaotic events in the job. More recently, in my 21 years as a massage therapist, I've consistently observed how feelings of stress, anxiety, and being overwhelmed are deeply connected to unhealthy breathing patterns. I continue to teach various breathwork techniques for 'in the moment' or grounding purposes to my clients on a daily basis.

My Heartfelt Commitment

A family member struggling with their own anxiety found Circular Breathwork and asked me to join in a session. Seeing the change come over them during  and after the practice was inspiring. Internalized, suppressed emotions were able to be released through the mindful breathing we were doing. Practicing Circular Breathwork for myself convinced me that I wanted to bring this to my communities to help others find a better way to shift their emotional well-being. To me, it's far more than just breathing; it's about unlocking your innate capacity to release emotional burdens, calm your nervous system, and culitvate a profound sense of peace and clarity.
